Right guys so, skin care is something I’ve really only sort of just started getting into, in fact, it was my new year’s resolution, to have a proper skincare routine that I followed every morning a night and actually I have been really good at following it, except of course if I’ve had a really big night out! I do however make sure I do remove my make up every night no matter what, which in the past wasn’t something I was very good at and I have really noticed a difference in my skin!
Essentially I use the same products both morning and night, except I swap out cleansers and moisturisers…
So my morning routine includes these following items, I’ll list them in the order that I use them!
Neutrogena Spot Stress Control Daily Scrub
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution (Salicylic Acid is really good for cleaning out your pores!)
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1% (Helps fight blemishes)
Dead Sea Spa Magik Rich Moisturiser (I like this because it feels quite rich and moisturising but you only need the tiniest amount and doesn’t feel heavy on the skin!)
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG (This is for your eyes and reduces both puffiness and pigmentation)
And my night time routine includes the following:
Dead Sea Spa Magik Gentle Cleansing Facial Wash (I really like this, it leaves my skin feeling so clean and you only need the smallest amount!)
The Ordinary Salicylic Acid 2% Solution
The Ordinary Niacinamide 10% + Zinc 1%
The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG
The Ordinary 100% Organic Cold Pressed Rose Hip Seed Oil (Rose Hip Seed Oil is really good for balancing pigmentation and skin texture!)
And yeah they’re essentially the products I’ve settled on and use every day, I tried a few brands (both high end and cheaper) and different methods at the beginning of the year trying to find what worked for me and in the end, I have settled with this little routine! I think one of my favourite things is the price of the items I use, the most expensive item is the Rose Hip Oil at just under £10, all products range between £5-10!
I’ve sort of become obsessed with The Ordinary! I use one of their silicone based primers which I absolutely love, and today I’m trying their serum foundation for the first time so we’ll see how that goes, so far I am liking it!
Half way through this challenge and I’m really loving it!
Day 15: Where will I Be In 5 Years?
Todays question has got me thinking to be honest, I feel like these days my life is pretty stable and I’m happy and I feel like Lachy and I have a pretty set sort of 10 year plan and goals we want to work towards..
So I think I’ll start buy sort of going through the plan for the next 5, which essentially is just me finishing uni and getting a proper teaching job, paying as much off of the mortgage as possible and getting a puppy! I think I’d probably like to be married or at least engaged (Lachlan that ones on you!) so I guess yeah in 5 years I’d like to have a real job, be making solid progress on the mortgage and have a puppy! Hahah
However, as I said this post really got me thinking, and if you’d asked me 5 years ago where I’d be today, I definitely would not have said that I’d be on the tube on the way to work in London! So really who knows where I’ll be in 5 years, as long as I have Lachy by my side I’ll be happy!
Hey guys! So as you know we’re off on a 2 month trip around Europe in two weeks and I want some recommendations of things to do and places to eat and just generally anything for the places we’re going. I’ll write a list of all the cities and if you have any ideas pleaseeee comment!
Praiano (Amalfi Coast)
So any recommendations for any of these places would be amazing!
I actually cleaned or half of the fridge out yesterday when my groceries for the week were delivered, but since we obviously houseshare and we share a fridge, it’s not as organised as I would like my fridge to be but yeah! Anyway here’s what’s in my fridge!
Right so I think the best way would to just take a photo of each shelf and describe from there hahah
So on my first shelf, I have pretty much just cheese and dips:
– Black Olive Tapenade dip
– Harrisa Houmous dip
– Mature Cheddar Slices
– Sour Cream
On my second shelf, I have some desserts and some more cheese:
– A Lemon Tart from Paul
– A Vanilla and Chocolate Cheesecake
– Parmigiano Reggiano
My next shelf, which is the bottom shelf is essentially just all my meat products:
– GBK Burger Patties
– Smoked Bacon Rashers
– A Tapas Platter with chorizo, cheese and olives
– Chorizo Ring
– Siracha Hot Sauce (Probably my fave thing in the fridge)
– Minced Garlic
– Minced Ginger
– Tomato Paste
And now last is my veg drawer!
– A packet of Superfood Salad mix
– Mixed Peppers
– Tenderstem Broccoli
– Celery Sticks
– Fresh Chillis
And the only drinking item I have is a bottle of white wine chilling, that Lachy and I bought after a wine tasting on Friday night!
So I actually have a lot of stuff that I wouldn’t normally stock in my fridge, like all the dips and tapas and cheese items as well as the dessert stuff but Lachy and I are having a picnic on Wednesday since the weather is nice, so I got all the stuff for that! The rest is just what I needed for dinners this week, however, we’re really only home for dinner Monday and Tuesday this week so it’s not much!
This one is such a good one! I love reading and always have!
Day 12: My Favourite Childhood Book
The one book I can remember reading and wanting my mum to read me over and over again is the Magic Faraway Tree stories by Enid Blyton, I actually managed to find the exact book that I had online and I’m so tempted to re-buy it!
I remember buying it at a garage sale with my pocket money and I was obsessed, this version had heaps of different adventure stories in it and I remember laying in bed every night reading it and asking mum to read it to me and just getting lost in the adventure of it all!
So as far as keeping my life organised as well as my brain in check because I am a super forgetful as a human, I love to use paper planners and have everything written down and in front of me so I can see my week in front of me.
The two planners I have been using this year are my B6 Foxy Fox Travelers Notebook (left) and my Erin Condren Life Planner (right). I love both of these planners and I love the size of the EC for weekly in-depth planning and using the Foxy for on the go, everyday planner I can just chuck it in my bag and go.

I am quite a visual person and I like to be able to see the writing in front of me but I also really love how I can decorate and spend time working on my weekly layouts and matching themes to what is happening in the week. Sitting down on a Sunday and spending a little while with my planners and my stickers and my pens and just spending time not thinking, I just find this time so necessary for unwinding and letting my creativity flow.
Above are two examples of how I can plan my weeks using kits I’ve bought on Etsy from various shops, and to be honest I think I use this as a bit of a hobby and a way to relax. I love using the stickers just to make everything pretty but obviously, they’re unnecessary and a pen will do the same job!
Lately, because we’re moving back to Aus I’ve kinda packed all my planning stuff away and I feel kinda lost, to be honest. I’m using my phone and computer calendars to plan everything and I feel like I’m forgetting tasks and plans and just generally not as productive.
Anyway, this is just a quick little post on how I generally like to keep myself organised and one of my hobbies haha.
